The big thing Notion doesn't teach? The cute lil dashboards. That's the whole Notion Girlie thing.
Hysterectomy Prep & Recovery Notion Tracker
I used Notion to track my recovery, right down to the pooping. Thought you might find it helpful too.

The Hysterectomy
—
My uterus staged a coup, so I had a hysterectomy.
How I Got Here
April 2025Abnormal pap. Turned out my cervix was inflamed — fibroids, but we didn't know that yet.
June 2025Ultrasound confirmed fibroids. First ER trip, and a recommendation to “try a low-estrogen diet.”
Summer 2025Symptoms got worse. Legs going numb, severe acid reflux, heart palpitations, nausea.
September 2025New gyno, an MRI, and the decision to get a hysterectomy.
18 December 2025Yeeted my uterus (+ fallopian tubes). Planned to take my cervix too, but it was too risky.
Non-cancerous growths in and on the uterus. Where they grow is what makes them different.
Ticked are the ones I had
1Intramural
In the muscle wall
2Subserosal
On the outside, growing outwards
3Submucosal
Into the cavity. The heavy-bleeding ones
4Pedunculated
On a stalk. Mine caused nearly all of it
5Cervical
In the cervix. Why she stayed
I was collecting fibroids like infinity stones. So many pedunculated ones that my surgeon said he'd never seen anything like it.
Doug was my biggest fibroid, photographed on the day. Turns out he had a secret family.
It is a real surgical photo and it looks like one. There is another of my uterus still in there that looked a bit like an alien baby — we are not showing you that one.
How It's Going
I kept my cervix. A fibroid was digging into her and the placement near my ureters was too risky, so she stayed — which means some symptoms are hanging out, but not as bad.

Like a babymoon, except there's no baby — just a uterus that needs to be removed. A getaway before the big day, where you treat yourself, excited or grieving.
